The first through sixth grades use a multidimensional approach to church school. Workshops engage different intelligences - bodily/kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalist, spiritual, verbal/linguistic, logical/mathematical, and visual/spatial. Lessons are based in Bible literacy, and an exploration of our monthly themes as listed on our calendar.
The second part of programming includes age-appropriate chapel worship; arts classes taught by professional artists from the community who work with church school staff to integrate current lessons into art activities; social service projects; sex education; and Lessons of Loss.
Children's Safety Procedures:
For the safety and security of our children, children in the 3rd grade and younger must be signed in and out each Sunday by a parent or parent-designated adult. Older children may sign themselves into their classes.
All participants in the Children's religious education Program must wear name tags. First through 6th graders pick up their nametags in the main RE hallway. If your child does not have a name tag, please request one from a Board Member or your child's teacher.
When extenuating circumstances dictate that the parent of school-age children must be absent for all or part of a Sunday morning, that parent must check out with the Board Member on Duty or phone the Religious Education Library, 743-2805, ext. 315, and leave emergency contact information.
