SHANNON BOSTON, CHILDREN’S RELIGIOUS EDUCATION ADMINISTRATOR:
Shannon Boston begins her second year as the full time staff person in Children’s Religious Education. She has a B.A. in history and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa. She has renovated and run a bed and breakfast in Washington, D.C., managed a folk art store and worked as a baker in an organic food co-op. She began her work at All Souls almost 15 years ago as the Cherub Choir Director and during that time served for two years as the Interim Program Director for the over 100-voice Children’s and Youth Choir Program. Through it all Shannon’s life-long spiritual home has been All Souls Unitarian Church.
Shannon grew up at All Souls, actively participating in the Children’s Religious Education Program from pre-school through her Senior Year in High School. She was also a charter member of the Children’s Choir Program and sang with them until she left for college.
As Children’s Religious Educator, Shannon is able to fully utilize her talents and training-her degrees in history and law; her work as an attorney, an office administrator, a board leader and a volunteer coordinator; her love of all things creative and artistic; her decade-plus experience working with children from pre-kindergarten through high school; and her knowledge of Unitarian Universalism, both personal and historical-to capably support the Children’s Religious Education program at All Souls Unitarian Church, providing our children with a religiously and ethically-based education which will add meaning and substance to their lives.
