INFANTS AND TODDLERS
In the infant and toddler rooms, our priority is to ensure that children feel safe and secure. Trained, paid caregivers ensure consistent and quality care for our youngest souls. The nurseries open at 9:45 on Sunday mornings – and 15 minutes before all services and adult classes. Our childcare staff will gladly work with parents to help resolve separation issues. Please pick up your children promptly following programming – even if you are staying for an afternoon event or class, picking your child up for lunch and a check-in helps them feel connected to you, and allows our staff to prepare for the next childcare session.
When you arrive please:
- Confirm that you have an Infant and Toddler Registration Form on file or a Visitor’s Card for that day
- Complete the information on the sign in sheet including a cell number where you can be reached and your intended destination in the church (and remember to keep that cell where you can see or feel it vibrate!).
- Make sure that your child has a name tag and that all of your belongings are labeled with your child’s name.
- Speak with the caregivers about food and drink as we often provide water and Cheerios on demand.
- Provide a labeled sippy cup or bottle for your child.
Parents are welcome to stay for a few minutes to help their children settle in. In addition there are observation windows in the hallway to help assure parents of their children’s well-being. The worship service may also be viewed on television in the Family Room.
A parent or guardian or guardian for children five years and younger must be in the building whenever the child is in programming.
Room 120 is a comfortable room for nursing mothers and nurturing fathers to be with our youngest ones in a more private and better equipped setting than the Family Room. The video link will keep you in touch with what’s going on in the sanctuary while you attend to your little one’s needs.
Room 113 is for infants and cruisers. Nine children are the maximum in this room. If we are at capacity, we will invite you to take your child to 120 where you can stay with them and watch the service on television.
Room 112 is for toddlers through 3 years of age. Children who have not turned three by Sept. 1 will remain in Room 112 throughout the church-school year. As the Kid’s Day Out room, it is set up for two and three year olds. Please understand if your advanced and precocious younger child is asked to remain in room 112.
Childcare is provided to well (completely healthy) infants and toddlers only. Please keep sick children at home.
If your child has a contagious condition or has had, vomiting, diarrhea, or fever (or a normal temperature only with fever-reducing medication), in the past 24 hours, for the health and welfare of your our child as well as others, you should keep your child at home. Taking your sick child to worship with you may inadvertently expose vulnerable adults to illness.
