Rev. Dr. Rebecca Parker, theologian, ordained minister, and president of Starr King School for the Ministry, will discuss her new book Saving Paradise at this year's Seminary for a Day. In this groundbreaking work, Dr. Parker and her co-author Rita Nakashima Brock offer a fascinating new lens on the history of Christianity, asking how its early vision of beauty evolved into a vision of torture, and what changes in society and theology marked that evolution. They open a new future for Christianity through a theology of redemptive beauty, and they ground justice and peace for humanity in love for the earth.
