Coming of Age Vision qUUest Campout
October 10-11, 2009

The Coming of Age class spends two days together participating in activities designed to get to know themselves and each other on a deeper level. Each students spends one-on-one time with a minister, and solo journaling time at dusk and dawn.

Quarter Souls Christmas Tree Harvest
Dec. 2, 2009

Seventh- and eighth-graders go together to select the holiday tree for the church’s Tree Trimming Party and Hanging of the Greens Dec. 7.

College Panel
December 20, 2009

Recent graduates from our youth department come share their experiences from the first semester of college.

YRUU Holiday Broomball Lock-in
December 27, 2009

Ninth thru 12th grade spend a night in the church eating, playing, and worshipping together, with a midnight run to the ice arena for broomball!

Quarter Souls Holiday Lock-out
December 30, 2009

Seventh- and eighth-graders spend six hours out on the town for food, fun and fellowship.

Martin Luther King Parade
January 18, 2010

Families are invited to join the youth for the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade through the historic Greenwood area.

Youth Sunday
Febrary 28, 10:00 am and 11:30 am Worship Services

This inspiring day, the Youth lead both Worship Services in the Sanctuary. Seniors are encouraged to write and deliver sermons, and all Youth grades 10-12 are encouraged to help with the music, banner, prayers and readings, decorating the chancel, and creating the order of service. Attendance at planning sessions (Wednesday nights beginning in January) is required.

Coming Of Age Service

This is the culmination of the Coming of Age program, when youth deliver their credo statements to the congregation.

Senior Spirit qUUest
June 3-6, 2010

The Spirit qUUest for just-graduated seniors combines outdoor high-adventure and spiritual growth through rituals created to help the youth affirm their inner strengths as they prepare to leave home.

Float Trip
June 2010

A camp out and float on the Illinois River for Registered Youth and Advisors.

Summer Social Action Project
July 2010

The All Souls Youth Summer Social Action Project is an extended weekend of education, service, and fellowship. Previous projects have included “Viva la FINCA” to start a micro-lending bank in Mexico; to the Cherokee Nation to assist the Etchieson Memorial United Methodist Church; REPAiRelATIONS, race relations and anti-oppression work; and Heifer International, a world hunger and poverty simulation educational experience. 2010 dates TBA.

Pool Parties
August 2010

Back-to-school pool parties – one for Quarter Souls and one for YRUU – end the summer, and mark the beginning of a new church year together. Dates TBA.
